On the main street Grand Rue in Bulle there’s quite a few restaurants to choose from. One day we said we need to try something else, since we tend to go to quite a few restaurants but all the same most of the time (coz they’re just delicious!). We chose Cabane à Titi which is advertised as a perfect spot for meat lovers. Something for us! Differents kinds of meat, even the more exotic ones. Jackpot. We’re going. Our friends told us they’ve been there before and it wasn’t that good. They had burgers. We thought we will try anyway.
When we arrived there wasn’t that many people. Service was a bit slowish, passed by few times and didn’t even ask if we wanted something to drink so I quickly ordered when she was running away. After we received the menu the lady came back 2 minutes later and already wanted to take an order (damn it, I read fast but hello). If she had time to ignore us before she could stick with it for a moment. My boyfriend ordered tartar and I ordered triology of meat (beef, ostrich and boar). Rare and medium rare. For the tartar he had to order chips extra since it came just with toasts and for my triology I ordered pepper sauce (extra 3 Swiss francs). The food arrived. Tartar was ok, nothing exciting, you make it better at home, chips never arrived and Samuel ordered a second round of toasts which came totally white. As far as it goes for my triology, meat was overcooked, very overcooked. I could almost kill someone with a piece of it. Was far away from rare. Pieces of meat were tiny, in the menu it said 300 g, but I guess my whole plate was 300 g. We ate, finished our wine and went to pay since it was taking too long for the service to come with the bill. On it – surprise! Chips – 6 Swiss francs. You know, the chips that he never saw or ate. We explained nicely that the chips never arrived and service was quite surprised. There wasn’t that many people- remember? She deducted it from the bill and we left. Still a bit hungry and not that satisfied. We paid around 150 Swiss francs which was a lot for the quality of food and service.
There’s not many restaurants that we say ‘we won’t come back’ but Cabane à Titi made it on the list.
If you still want to try then more info: here.
