With its very French name – Restaurant La Croix-Verte is ‘surprisingly’ a chinese restaurant. Cousin from my boyfriend told us about it and we decided to go (plus it is 50% off on all à la carte dishes until September – can’t miss a good opportunity).
After about 15 minute drive we arrived in front of the restaurant. Tried to sit inside but all the tables were booked so we headed for the terrace. It was still nice and sunny so perfect spot to have your dinner.
Service was amazing – fast, efficient and attentive. We got our drinks and food in no time. We decided to try their spring rolls with vegetables and I took DIM SUM. Yummy! We shared, since we wanted to try a bit of everything. Got 4 different kinds of Dim Sum and each one of them was tasty. As it goes for the main dish, Samuel ordered a duck in orange sauce with noodles and I took sweet and sour prawns with rice. Both of the dishes were very good, although my sauce was a bit too strong (a bit too sugary). I like sweet so I’m not going to complain about it. Take less sauce and you’re good.
I read a review on tripadvisor where someone wrote that the presentation of the dishes sucks big time. Well… you can always find something to bitch about, but for the quality, quantity and the price it’s sometimes better not to go in so much detail. Presentation for us was good as for this type of restaurant. The big plus is that you can share. The plates arrive separately, rice, noodles etc and you can just pick from the plates and mix all you want.
All in all, if you’re around Vaulruz and craving something different than Swiss cuisine, it’s a nice place to pop by and have dinner or lunch.
We paid around 75 francs for our dinner with appetizers and main dish, wine, water, beer and coffee. I was a cheap date that evening. We will be back.

Tip: If it’s warm and sunny sit on the terrace. There’s also a little playground for the kids outside. When you come with lots of friends take a bit from everything and share.
