Up in the sky over Charmey: paragliding with Anemos

Up in the sky over Charmey: paragliding with Anemos

For our two year anniversary I decided to surprise Sam and got a voucher for paragliding. There’s quite a few places that offer flights around in district of Gruyère but Anemos seemed like a perfect choice since I knew they also speak German (and believe me, my French wasn’t that good then).

Checked the weather with the guys, our days off and up we were. Since it was already after 5 p.m. and the lift was closed we drove up with our paragliding gurus up to Vounetz in Charmey – our starting point. Then a quick briefing and we were already up in the air.

I fell in love with paragliding already in Zermatt. Believe me, it’s one of the best ways to admire the views. The flight was around 20-25 minutes long and I was in heaven. Felix and Pierre-Allain that we were flying with were super nice and explained everything. Me asking tons of questions (stupid ones as well) during the flight might have been a bit much for someone but Felix laughed and answered all of them.

Before landing Felix asked me if I want to go a bit crazy and of course I said yes…And then all the twists and turns started. Perfect!

When you’re in the region and not afraid of heights – try paragliding! Yes.

I will be back when I’m forty for the paragliding course. Cheers guys!

Tips: Wherever you go in Switzerland there’s almost always a paragliding company that offers flights. Do it. Don’t hesitate. Once in a lifetime experience.
