Zermatt has a lot to offer. When you get tired of skiing, snowboarding, hiking, climbing all the mountains around and just feel like having an easy day outside then sledging is your answer. Take a train up to Gornergrat stop on Rotenboden station. There you can rent your sledge (if you want the ones that are easier to control and not that crazy fast – take the wooden ones!) for CHF 8.00 and then the fun begins. There is a special slope for sledging enthusiasts that goes down to Riffelberg (sometimes going quite crazy on the turns so watch out). From there on hop on the train once again and repeat. The sled you can give back on Riffelberg station so you do not need to come up again just for that.
You can also pop by Igloo Village and check the world’s biggest igloo! Why not?
Sledge day is a good alternative when your legs can’t take anymore skiing and need a bit of rest Enjoy!
