Yes, it’s summer, it’s hot and all you want to do is stay at home or a cave and maybe do something during the night time. I’ll clap to that since mostly that’s what I want to do. But…since it’s not raining, we decided to check another via ferrata. This time we went back to Nax (a post about skiing in Nax: here ) .
How to get there
With a car everything is easy. Almost. This time it was very easy. You just follow the sign ‘Nax’ and then after about 5 km from village called ‘Bramois’ there’s a big sign VIA FERRATA and well, that’s where you want to leave your car. Approach walk is until now the easiest we did. After leaving your car 3 minutes later you can start climbing.
Via Ferrata du Belvédère, Nax
450 meters long K4 via ferrata with 2 ‘cable’ bridges. K4 says that it is difficult via ferrata, but that’s not the case this time. The hardest part (which is still easy) is the first part and the first bridge. I am officially not the fan of ‘cable’ bridges and this one was a bit pervy since getting off it wasn’t the easiest. It’s perfectly secured and long enough to make your face smile. Perfect for people who want to start their via ferrata adventure.
Going down
When you finish the via ferrata take a little hiking path down. If you feel thirsty as we did there’s a camping with a restaurant about 5 minutes away from the end of the via. The hike down takes you through the forest and about 20-25 minutes later you will find yourself next to the car.
Practical information:
Starting point: Parking space next to ‘Via Ferrata Nax’ sign (circa 998 m)
Target: Belvédère de Nax (1224 m)
Hike lenght: It took us 3 whole minutes to get to the start of via ferrata, 1 hour for a via ferrata (easy tempo with taking pictures, stops for drinking some water). Hike down 20-25 minutes really easy tempo.
Difficulty: Via ferrata is marked as difficult (K4) but it’s not. Gantrisch is also marked as K4 but for us was more difficult as the one in Nax.
Tips: Perfect via ferrata for people who want to start their adventure with some cable love. Visit a campsite and its restaurant after you fnished, have a beer or jump in the pool. Enjoy!
